About the event

You Fool!

You Fool! began in basements in the suburbs of Washington, DC. Their unique blend of powerful indie rock and dreamy, ethereal post-rock is so silky smooth you could sleep on it if you wanted to. But, you know what they say about sleeping on good music:  don’t! Their sound has been compared to the likes of 90’s alternative legends The Cranberries and modern indie darlings Alvvays and Japanese Breakfast. Their debut EP, “What is the Meaning of This?”, arrives in August 2024.

Jackie And The Treehorns

Rooted in the basic tenets of rock, Jackie and The Treehorns create music from just outside the nation’s capital in Alexandria, VA and just outside the mainstream. Formed in 2009 and fronted by Steven Rubin under the guise of an altered ego (Jackie) and his band (The Treehorns) the group fight to keep the flames of the rock and/or roll fire lit with inspired original inventiveness. The band has been described as creating full-throttle music with a fluidity of sounds atop a smooth veneer that is wildly interesting and unpredictable as well as playing super-catchy, pumped-up indie rock with addictively clever rhythms and subtle, smiling, muscular menace.

The bands’ most recent releases, Go Get Your Ghosts (2023), singles Made You Run (2021) and Hidden Cameras (2020) and It’s Never Too Late (2019), were recorded at Ivakota Studios in Washington, DC with Ben Green.  For their previous releases, The J. Album (2018), singles Writer and A World Gone Mad (2017), RU4REAL? (2016), and Do You Mind If I Wear A Clown Mask? (2015) the band worked with legendary engineer Don Zientara at the famed Inner Ear Studio in Arlington, VA.

Modest Goddess

Modest Goddess is a genre-bending rock band that emerged onto the D.C. music scene in the spring of 2023 with an unquenchable zeal for peace, love, and rock & roll. Their sound blends elements of folk, funk, and psychedelic rock to yield songs that are emotionally resonant and eminently groove-able. The band’s unique instrumentation serves as the perfect canvas for its lyrical storytelling, which is equal parts incisive, humorous, and sincere in an effort to shed light and dignity on human experiences. This singer songwriter ethos sets the band apart from its genre contemporaries and leaves listeners with food for thought long after their ears stop ringing. The band currently plays in and around the DMV, infusing their belief in the cathartic, life-affirming power of music into every performance.
