Jammin Java All Ages
Doors 6PM | Show 7PM

About the event

Prakriti Deuja is partnering up with the PKP Tender Hearts Foundation to raise money for the nonprofit and Harisiddhi Secondary school.

Prakriti Deuja

Growing up in the quiet suburbs of Northern Virginia in a traditional Nepalese household, Prakriti had anything but a linear path to music. Being the first in her family to even consider pursuing a career in the arts meant breaking boundaries, rules, and a lot of expectations. She became the first Nepalese-American woman to perform the National Anthem for the NBA, at Emancipation Day in DC, for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Mayor’s Office on AAPI Affairs in DC, and a multitude of other events. Even with her accomplishments, however, she knew that making her parents proud had to be the one thing in life she knew she did — so school became her primary focus for 5 years, ensuring the safety and security her parents (and late, beloved Nana) immigrated to the United States for. Finally, after finishing school, Prakriti decided it was time to let her passion lead the way and finally give her one true love a real shot. An old newbie, pop/R&B fusion singer Prakriti Deuja uses her passionate, powerful, and soulful voice to tell the many feelings of her own. With sassy lyrics and a show-stopping voice, Prakriti represents a new era in the music industry: authenticity and an inarguable demand for honesty.
