ABOUT THE SHOW
Comedian, author, and Vienna native Allan Sidley returns home to perform jokes from his new book, Daddy Issues.
Growing up fatherless, Father’s Day was always kind of crappy for local comedian Allan Sidley. Not only that, he believes the day kind of sucks for everyone. Let’s face it, fathers aren’t celebrated as well as mothers are– they don’t need another tie, hammer, or dress shirt.
But even without a dad, Allan Sidley has mastered the “dad joke.” So much so that he wrote an entire book of them, called Daddy Issues. This 187 pages of original jokes was a #1 new release on Amazon, and is still available.
This year, don’t disappoint dad with a tie. Don’t bother with a card or a phone call. Instead, bring him to Jammin’ Java for a fun and hilarious afternoon of jokes that will have you laughing when you should(n’t), groaning often, and finding humor in the most unexpected places.
This show is for dads, those who have their own daddy issues, or are simply human. Come celebrate life’s highs, mediums, and loathes.
Books are available for purchase and signing after the show.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
As an only child, Allan was raised by his single Mother on the mean streets of Vienna, VA. She’s still a single Mother…in case whoever is reading this is single and interested in dating an older lady. But let’s not make this About Me about her. Allan journeys to bring laughter to those who need it, and a suitable step-dad to take home.
A comedian, author, improviser, and lyricist, Allan is a jack off all trades. Allan’s humor is dry, and a little wet from perspiration, usually. He opened (the door for) Sinbad, and toured throughout Eastern Europe in the summer of 2018 (not for comedy, just a fun fact). He did however recently Headline the Church of Satire Comedy Club, has opened at Laugh Index Festival (2017, 2018, 2019), and was a member of the Unkosher Comedy Tour (2018 & 2019). All this to say he has performed in festivals and clubs across the country as well as some TV appearances.
Featuring Gigi Modrich:
Gigi Modrich is a Washington, DC based comic originally from New Mexico. She was a part of the First Nations Comedy Experience now available on Amazon Prime, and has performed all across the country. She’s sarcastically optimistic and tells jokes that are thoughtful enough to provoke thought, but won’t prompt a hate crime.
Hosted by Chris Lawrence:
Christopher Lawrence is a Baltimore-area based comedian who performs in clubs, bars, coffee shops and any other venue that will have him throughout the Maryland-Virginia-DC area. He loves telling audiences about his foibles as he navigates everything from his job, to his marriage to raising his kids and other daily activities. He can be seen on Amazon Prime’s “Debate Night: A Quarantine Comedy” and hosts the weekly podcast “Franchise It!”
