The Sean Show
The Sean Show
The Sean Show is an annual charity remembrance concert for the late-great Sean Albert Meyers. Sean was a bassist and dear friend to many of us in the local NOVA/DC/MD music scene and we gather each year to celebrate his life through music, stories and friendship. He had such a warmth about him and always enjoyed being around musicians and artists talking about life and music. He hosted open mic nights at The Soundry and Epicure Cafe and was most notably in bands such as The Pocket and Norman Rockwell, to name a few. His impact on the local music scene is still felt to this day.

All ticket sales go to charities hand-selected by his sister, Jenny. Sean worked at Great Falls Animal Hospital and had a profound and sincere love for animals. The two charities that Jenny has selected this year are Hope and Serenity Equestrian Center and Farm Sanctuary and Catfe Diem.

We hope you’ll be able to join us for a wonderful night of celebrating the life of Sean Albert Meyers!!

Milo in the Doldrums
Milo in the Doldrums
Milo in the Doldrums is an indie rock band hailing from the sandy beaches of northern VA. Their end goal is to provide a new generation with sick avant grunge pop songs that both inspire youngsters to dream big and old ass boomers to light up and remember the good times of listening to Joe Walsh while avoiding eye contact with their parents. In other words, Milo in the Doldrums is a daily reminder to never give up, always have a goal to reach for, and never let the guy at McDonalds make you feel sad.
Louisa Hall & Friends
Louisa Hall & Friends
Sweet, silly, with "pipes and emotion reminiscent of Loretta Lynn," and lyrics that would "fit on the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend soundtrack," Louisa's brand of relatable music has taken her from the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, The Hamilton Live, 9:30 Club, Jammin' Java and more. She is a frequent contributor to The Circus Life podcast, a regular guest of the Nine Songwriter Series, and a ukulele ambassador, teaching and performing at ukulele festivals including the annual Strathmore Uke and Guitar Summit and Baltimore’s Charm City Ukulele Festival. Her debut album, Barista Boyfriend, offers Louisa’s take on everything from internet dating to real-life stalking - and all the awkward moments in between - with her signature mix of earnest yet amusing lyrics set to ear-worm worthy melodies wrapped in lush arrangements. She's excited to return to Jammin' Java with a full band to celebrate Sean and raise money for a great cause.

She is a frequent contributor to The Circus Life podcast, The Capital City Showcase, and a regular guest of the Nine Songwriter Series. In addition to playing ukulele, she is also a music educator specialized in teaching novice "ukers" (which is a term for ukulele players she just made up, unless "uker" is really a thing - she does not need credit).
The Pocket
The Pocket
The Pocket is a Washington, DC-based alternative-rock-reggae band with an authentic island sound.

Vocalist Omar Teitelbaum, Jamaican-born guitarist Terrence Brown, and keyboardist Matt Wood intuitively fuse alternative rock, jazz, and hip-hop with off-beat skanks that are Jamaica-tested and crowd approved guaranteed to move an audience to its feet.

The Pocket gained international respect in 2007 while on a 42-U.S. city tour with reggae icon Ronnie Davis of The Itals and at performances in Jamaica (Montego Bay, New Kingston and at the Western Consciousness Festival in Westmoreland). To date, The Pocket has performed with Ronnie Davis, Third World, Culture, Pato Banton, Beres Hammond, Freddie McGregor, Wailing Souls, Roberta Flack, and Nora Jones and at some of the best live music venues in the United States including the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO and Malibu Inn in Los Angeles.

Locally, The Pocket has also played State Theatre in Falls Church, Iota Club and Cafe in Arlington, Jammin Java in Vienna, and events such as The National Cherry Blossom Festival, Fairfax 2015 WPFG.

The Pocket's acclaimed "Out of Many, One" album, mixed by Errol Brown (Bob Marley's main engineer), has seen international success. The three singles "Oceanside (Rooftop in Kingston)", "Steady" and "Lila Rose" quickly gained recognition and respect in Jamaica on both Irie FM and Zip in addition to college radio stations across the US.
Erik Bradford
Erik Bradford (previously known as Short Lives) sings above slow and spacey soundscapes with spaghetti-western guitar sounds; a mixture of 70’s progressive rock, 80’s post-punk, and 90’s grunge.
Irresponsible loves rock'n'roll! Based out of Washington, DC, this band gets its kicks from meaty guitar riffs, sweet harmonies, and thundering drums and bass. With three studio albums and hundreds of shows down, Irresponsible is excited to present their new single, "Beautiful Baby."
Derek Evry
Derek Evry
Derek Evry is an alternative pop-rock songwriter from Washington, D.C.

Derek has been performing original music since 1999, and his music has been featured on ABC’s hit crime drama “Castle”.

Along with performing and producing his own music, Derek has also co-written and produced music with several local D.C. artists, including Cathy DiToro (Party Like It’s..., The Legwarmers), Rachel Levitin, Carolyn Crysdale, Tom Goss, and many others! Derek also performs with several other bands in the D.C. area, such as Metro Songs, The Lexi Jackson Band, Alex Parez & the Hell Rojo’s, and The Split Seconds.

Derek’s most recent album “Pop Perspective” is out now!
Josh Johnston
Josh Johnston was the main songwriter for Norman Rockwell. With hits such as Stateline, Carolina Mountains and Eve, this was one of the bands that Sean really enjoyed playing and loved being a part of. Josh will be back in town for this special night to play onstage once again in memory of Sean!
