Mary Lou and the Drugstore Lovers
Mary Lou and the Drugstore Lovers
Mary Lou Bolas (lead vocals) is the new breakout talent coming to the Northern Virginia live music scene! She’s honed her skills singing and playing guitar in a host of folk and worship groups, now with The Drugstore Lovers she’s ready to take NoVA by storm with her powerful delivery and her expressive touch. She will break your heart with her soulful renditions of classic rock ballads, and then blow you over when she kicks it into high gear with her incredible covers of Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Janis Joplin, Robert Plant, Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane), and Stevie Nicks, just to name a few! You don’t want to miss it!

Tom Rathjen (guitar/vocals) is a veteran performer with over 30 years of stage and studio experience, spanning the country from LA to Houston TX, and for the last 10 years right here in Northern Virginia. Before he became a Drugstore Lover he was the long-time lead guitarist for Fat Chance, one of Northern Virginia’s premier party rock bands. He also plays lead guitar for the Spirit Wind praise band at Lord of Life Lutheran Church. The breadth and depth of his experience includes stints with Brunette Sky (classic rock), Grace Thru Faith (contemporary Christian), Prophets of Syrinx (Rush tribute), After 10 (classic and modern rock), Powered Flight (classic rock), MinT (modern rock), Zamboni (original rock), and The Source (original rock). He plays with style and taste, his unique signature sound is unmistakable!

Jon Engel (keyboards/vocals) is making his debut to the NoVA live music scene. Brought out of semi-retirement by his fellow Drugstore Lovers he’s been biding his time in the studio producing The Traveling Dingleberries (classic rock) and Casting Fate (original altern metal). A grizzled veteran of the bustling Northern New Jersey live music scene, he spent over 20 years singing and playing bass, keyboards and guitar in Mushmouth (classic/party rock), Soul’d Out (Soul/R&B), Thymes Two (classic/acoustic rock), Breaker ME (original hard rock), Powerplay (original rock), Nightlife (original rock), Vox Angelica (original altern) and The Switch (80’s pop/rock), as well as producing studio projects ReKlein (original EDM) and Malaren (original world/new age). His broad range and versatility puts the icing on The Drugstore Lovers’ cake!

Joe Cacciapaglia (bass guitar/vocals) ...more to come...

Carl (Sugar Foot) Pavolic (drums/vocals) is making his NoVA live music debut but he’s no stranger to the stage or studio. Before becoming a Drugstore Lover Sugar Foot did hard time in New York with 10 Fingers (classic rock/funk), Spyder Murphy (classic R&B), Suburban Groove Squad (Funk & Roll) and The Blind Rats (original rock/funk) where he co-wrote and produced, along with holding down the deep pocket he loves to live in. Once you hear Sugar Foot drop the bomb on his kick drum you’ll know how he got his name! Let’s just say he plays so funky you’ll need to put on your boogie shoes!
Fat Chance
Fat Chance
Vienna’s own Fat Chance Band is the DC area’s premier rock and dance band. Bringing the party wherever they play, this quintet covers material spanning decades as well as genres.

Known for filling dance floors, and bringing heavy groove, Fat Chance collectively brings years of stage and studio experience to every show. We’ve been hired for events all around the area for many corporate and celebratory events, including Viva! Vienna and Vienna Oktoberfest.

Our reputation afforded us the opportunity to be featured performers on recent live show on the FOX Morning News “Zip Trips” this past summer, featuring the best of Vienna, VA.

We are truly honored to be included with our fellow Movers & Shakers for the “Mayor Jane Seeman Memorial Concert”.
Mudlark has been playing great rock and blues in the DC Metro area since 1972. For the past 6 years, Mudlark has enjoyed a regular gig at the Basin Street Lounge in Old Town Alexandria and has played many other clubs and events in the area. The band has been featured at the Town of Vienna First Night and at Viva Vienna. Amazing guitar, soulful vocals and keyboards, a tight rhythm section, and high energy delivery are all hallmarks of Mudlark as members play off of each delivering great renditions of music by The Beatles, The Allman Brothers, Steely Dan, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and more.
