We <3 U Chris Baker
We <3 U Chris Baker
Chris Baker, the drummer for The Duskwhales is one of the hardest working drummers in the NOVA/DC area. When he was diagnosed with cancer this past Fall, it was shocking to everyone because Chris is such an awesome person and loved by so many people. He’s an amazing musician with a heart of gold. During this time of his life, he’s been incredibly brave battling cancer and has even created petitions to help kids with cancer see the latest Star Wars movie inside hospitals! To honor his bravery, we, his close friends and fellow musicians have decided to create a charity show to help him and his family with some of their medical expenses. Please join us for a wonderful night celebrating Chris Baker’s courageous fight against cancer!
The Duskwhales
The Duskwhales
The Duskwhales are a three-piece indie rock band formed in Manassas, Virginia in 2010. Their sound is reminiscent of 60's groups such as The Beatles and The Doors through prominent use of keyboards and memorable vocal harmonies. While incorporating the best elements of their psychedelic roots, the young trio creates a sophisticated style of their own in both studio and live settings. They have shared the stage with national acts Car Seat Headrest, Diane Coffee, Little Green Cars, and Frankie Cosmos, as well as performed to packed audiences across the East Coast. The Duskwhales are currently working on a three part recording project with each band member as the primary songwriter.
Milo in the Doldrums
Milo in the Doldrums
Milo in the Doldrums is an indie rock band from Northern Virginia. The band combines modern melodies with nostalgic hooks, tinged with melancholy and uplifted by a love for life and friends. The band has released two EP's, to date, and are currently working on completing their third EP, to be released in early 2018.
Dr. Robinson's Fiasco
Dr. Robinson's Fiasco
Formed in 2012, Dr Robinson's Fiasco is an Alt Indie Rock band from the DC area. Their music features memorable guitar riffs and catchy vocal hooks fueled by unique and captivating lyrics. They have a tight rhythmic chemistry between members, which creates a relentless groove in their songs.
FuzzQueen
FuzzQueen
FuzzQueen revels in a “seething tension” that serves to both mirror and confront the political climate through sonic exploration. Forged in the glowing embers of Washington D.C. following the 2016 election and subsequent Women’s March, the members of FuzzQueen are entrenched in the thriving DIY community of the nation’s capital. While keenly aware of the inescapably political nature of their locale, they coalesce around issues of social injustice and feminine power while also reveling in a “seething tension” that serves to both mirror and confront the political climate through sonic exploration.

"...music that’s expensively savage, like rotting metal. In fact, FuzzQueen’s sound is an entirely new sonic paradigm. And it’s excellent, full of intuition, guts and an instinctual feel." - Huffington Post

"Turbulent times breed turbulent songs. FuzzQueen’s new single “Angry, Angry” is an invigorating anthem for the marginalized, a cacophony of repressed rage exploding through the airwaves with empowered fury." - Atwood Magazine
Birds for Eyes
Birds for Eyes
Birds for Eyes is an Indie/Emo/Post-Rock band from Washington, DC. Formed in early 2016 by Case Graham and Sarah "Sunshine" Foote, the band soon evolved from an acoustic duo into a full band. Birds For Eyes is now composed of Case on guitar and lead vocals, Sunshine on viola and backing vocals, Josh Rickwald on piano, and Jordan Daché on drums. Taking from a variety of influences – The Early November, Explosions in the Sky, The Smiths, Yo La Tengo, Florence and the Machine, Patti Smith, Amy Winehouse, Ólafur Arnalds, Genesis, St. Vincent, Sergei Rachmaninoff – Birds For Eyes has forged a unique sound, which can take the listener from the quietude of a meadow to the intensity of a tidal wave in a single song. Incorporating classical as well as punk rock influences, Birds For Eyes infuses Indie-style instrumentation with Post-Rock song structures and Emo lyrics/themes resulting in songs that are as exciting as they are cathartic. Birds for Eyes now plays shows at venues throughout the NOVA/DC/Richmond, VA areas.
