These comics have appeared on national television (Comedy Central, Vice TV, BET, NBC's Last Comic Standing), performed in bars, clubs, theaters, comedy festivals, and kids birthdays all over the country, and now they're at Jammin' Java, just to make you laugh!
Haywood Turnipseed Jr
Haywood Turnipseed Jr., is the founder of Attack of the Comics and has over a decade of experience in making people laugh all over the country. He has performed at the Kennedy Center; The DC Improv; Brightest Young Things 'Bentzen Ball'; the Underground Comedy Festival; Baltimore Comedy Festival; Arlington Cinema Drafthouse; Drafthouse Comedy Theater (DC). Haywood has toured internationally, opening for names like Tony Woods; Sarah Colonna; Baron Vaughn; Wyatt Cenac; Hannibal Buress; and Dana Gould. Originally from the Holy Land of Indiana, Haywood now resides in DC with his family and is a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Winston Hodges 3 time funnybone clash of the comics winner from Richmond VA. Hes opened for Mark Normand, Ali Siddiq, and more. With material covering everything from online dating to pro wrestling, to Autism Winston brings a lighthearted and sarcastic take to every topic hes interested in.
Jamie Benedi; he often wonders how many books he will have to read before he gets a British accent then in fear he must read one more book, this time on schizophrenia. He once thought he saw a ninja turtle then noticed that he just had a booger in his eye. His dreams are very important to him, but he can never remember them in the morning. This up and comer can be seen all over Northern Virginia, DC and sometimes Maryland. He likes to write jokes and tell them to people. As seen at the Comic Strip Live NYC, Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse and the DC Improv.
Samantha Kelly grew-up on filthy comedy, from staying up late watching South Park, her parents showing her old Sam Kinison and George Carlin specials, to watching Divine eat a turd in ‘Pink Flamingos’ when Samantha was only twelve. Her offensive childhood inspirations reflect themselves in her comedy, which is brutally honest, raw, self-deprecating and dirty. The best compliments Samantha has ever received are that she’s “fearless” and “makes trashiness sound eloquent.” She has been performing stand up comedy in dive bars around Baltimore and DC for almost three years, and has started featuring at bar shows. You can see her comedy writing and acting in the sketch comedy group she’s part of “Tasteless Buds.”
Nicole Walkow is a volunteer stand-up comedian in Washington DC. When she's not telling jokes on stage, she can be found writing jokes and on her phone in the bathroom at her grocery store job.
