Sirens Of South Austin: Bettysoo, Grace Pettis, Rebecca Loebe
Sirens Of South Austin: Bettysoo, Grace Pettis, Rebecca Loebe
Sirens of South Austin is the collaboration of award-winning Austin artists Rebecca Loebe, BettySoo, and Grace Pettis. In addition to shared Southern roots (Georgia, Texas, and Alabama, respectively), the Sirens are award-winning songwriters and performers in their own right. All three are Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest winners.  Featuring the songs and stories of three seasoned troubadours, Sirens is a show like none other.

PRESS:

Rebecca Loebe:

“Inspiration for Rebecca Loebe's fourth album stems from a nostalgia for mixtapes – and an audit from the IRS. Blink proves the former Voice contestant works well under duress: A wholly diverse set list traverses an audio landscape that could only be deemed an emotional roller coaster.”
- Lauren Modery, The Austin Chronicle

“Things to know about Rebecca: she is a non-stop touring machine, she has an amazing voice, she’s great at reinterpreting songs (as with Nirvana’s ‘Come As You Are,’ Smokey Robinson’s ‘You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me’ and Kanye West’s ‘Stronger’), she’s an amazing storyteller, and she’s one of the nicest people that you’ll ever meet.”
- Adam Kukik, No Depression

Grace Pettis:

“If you purchase only one album this year, TWO BIRDS is it!”
- Arthur Wood, Maverick Magazine

“It is clear there are no limits to what Grace can do.”
- Mary Sue Twohy, Program Director, Sirius XM

“Austin-based singer-songwriter Grace Pettis, whom the DMA commissioned to write a song about one of the paintings in its collection. Grace picked the 1934 painting, Drouth Stricken Area, by Alexandre Hogue, and by the end of the song, you felt as though you were living in the painting itself. Grace is that kind of songwriter.

...a gifted young songwriter with a compelling voice ...one of the most talented young singer-songwriters in America.”
- Michael Granberry, The Dallas Morning News

BettySoo:

“BettySoo’s voice is the perfect combination of strength, vulnerability and clarity. It is just perfect.”
- Americana-UK

“Real music. Terrific!”
- Bob Harris, BBC2

“In the over-crowded, somewhat stale field of Americana, BettySoo is the very real deal…”
- Houston Press
