Friday January 2 10pm late show - Just $5!
*AFTER Party DJed by DJ LONG and PJtheVIKING
Come join us for 2009's first real electro disco party in the DC area.
Richmond DJ/Producer, PJtheVIKING, slams down his set of original electro bangers filled to the top with intense synths and wild 80's influenced video game explosions. Fill up your gas tank in your stolen Ferrari and get ready for a high speed chase down Freddy's Elm Street.
The Drugstore Cowboy's music composer, Philippe Grenade, drops his first ever solo set of his disco jams under the name of THE GRENADE. The Grenade's beats come screaming out of your Sega Genesis console and slam into your mind as a hallucinatory trip through a simple mathematics crash course through square roots and trianglular symbols.
YOUNG ENOUGH (consisting of Reed Kackley, Mike Santiago, Jud Mason) will set your leg bones into all sorts of grooves as the funky beats, pop vocals and sensual guitar licks melt your loins and have you begging for more. Young Enough are disco light dance floors, expensive vodka, silk limousine interiors and caged tigers in the VIP room.
The night will go on as DJ Long and PJtheVIKING switch on the turntables for a dance party to remember. DJ LONG, the highly skilled and ever growing richmond DJ, locks it down with a eclectic set that spans from hip-hop, pop, 90's house, to modern electro bangers.
Come on DC/VA lets get Jenkem!

instrumentation, Ammar has learned to manipulate simplicity to the advantage of
the song to the point where a mere breathe between words seems to fill the room
like a symphony. Unable to be tamed by a classic genre, Ammar fuses together
elements of Indie, pop, and acoustic rock. ..

Boys Will Be Boys, that is their name, that is their moto. They come to party, and they come to make you dance. With a well accepted EP release on iTunes in the summer of 2008, The Pre- Release, its just the beginning of this party.
*****
Love and Reverie have taken the east coast by storm, causing ambient melodies and dreamscapes that you got lost into for the past 2 years and theres no sign of them slowing up yet. Playing over 200+ shows each of those years, they are always on the road, trying to enter the thoughts and minds of any one who will listen to them. Taking cues from heavy hitters like Armor for Sleep, Deftones, Park, and Sunny Day Real Estate they use to blend their own mixture of music, not just the cookie cutter pop music that has over saturated our stereos. They have had 2 releases, the latest, a full length on Firefly Records, and they will be back into the studio in the early parts of 2009.

Read about Eric in the Washington Post here.
*****
Formed in late 2007, THE METHOD has in its short time played throughout the DC and Virginia scenes, and left jaws agape and dancing legs sore. A typical show ranges from uptown grooves, funk, progressive jams, 70s-tinged rockers, and hooky pop numbers.
*****
Amazing newcomer Marie Miller (Curb Records) performs her acoustic folk/pop at Jammin Java for the first time. Her 7-song EP
was produced by Mark Heimermann (DC Talk, Jaci Velasquez).

"…making a promising comeback with a terrific new country-tinged
album… His two hour plus show is a roundhouse kick to rock-and-roll
cynicism, a high-spirited affair led by a man who seems intent on
giving the audience its money's worth and having a great time doing
so." - The Washington Post
"John Eddie is a bad-ass… Eddie writes like a cowboy poet, a rock 'n'
roller and a country tune-smith all rolled into one. Part Steve Earl,
part Guy Clark, part Springsteen, John Eddie is one hell of an artist,
and if you didn't already know him, you will soon." - Performing

*Perform a Google search for "the Greatest Band in the History of
Recorded Music" and you will get only one result: JIM'S BIG EGO.
*Hailing from the small New England town of Boston, Massachusetts,
Jim's Big Ego has carved a unique place in the the music world by
rocking harder, fresher, louder, sweeter and better than everyone
else.
*Jim's Big Ego compares itself to such major players as The Great Wall
of China, The Grand Canyon, Antarctica, and other things you can see
from space.
*****
*Ed Hamell (of HAMELL ON TRIAL) has released two albums on Ani
DiFranco's label (Righteous Babe Records), has toured extensively with
Ms. DiFranco, and has collaborated with her on several songs.
*His most recent work, The Terrorism of Everyday Life, is a one-man
theatrical show which combines story telling, comedy and songs into a
brilliantly outrageous theatrical event.
*Mr. Hamell was invited to perform at the 2007 Fringe Festival in
Edinburgh, Scotland, where The Terrorism of Everyday Life earned
five-star reviews in the Metro, Edinburgh Review, and Three Weeks, and
was awarded the Festival's prestigious Herald Angel Award, the highest

Friday January 23 acoustic $10 - 7pm show
*Dryland is the highly-anticipated follow-up to Chris Pureka's 2004
debut, Driving North, for which the rising songwriter from
Massachusetts has landed praise from publications like Time Out New
York, Performing Songwriter, Nashville City Paper and many others.
*Nationally touring with over 175 shows/year, Pureka has built a great
name for herself in the 250-500 capacity rooms in the U.S. and last
fall completed a 10-date tour in the UK.
*For this indie-acoustic songstress with simple, heartfelt and
vulnerable delivery, comparisons flow easily. Some recognize the
poetry and grit of a young Bruce Springsteen or a troubled Ryan Adams.
Others see shades of female greats like Patty Griffin, Gillian Welch
or Mary Gauthier.

Saturday January 24 music for kids $15 for everyone over one year old - THREE SHOWS AT 10:30am, 12:30am, and 2:30pm!
"Pure Fun" — Entertainment Weekly
"Some of the most inspired and intelligent kids lyrics ever." — Amazon.com
Like a scene from "Groundhog Day," the event repeats itself over and over. Bass and drums pound out the beat in perfect unison. Bodies spring to their feet and rush the stage; jumping, dancing and bouncing off each other like bumper cars. The concertgoers behave like children. Which is no surprise because they are children, participating in the kiddie mosh pit found at nearly every Justin Roberts concert.
Justin Roberts is truly one of the "all-stars" of the indie family music scene. He logs thousands of miles on the road each year, leading some to call him the hardest working man in children's show business. With national awards and recognition and a devoted fan base, Justin and his wonderfully named bandmates "The Not Ready for Naptime Players" dish out unexpectedly intelligent and whimsically rocking music for kids and their parents.

Saturday January 24 $20 - 10pm show
*Tickets go on sale Saturday December 6th!
Fiction Family is a beautiful byproduct of a music industry in crisis. The adventurous new project is comprised of Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek and Jon Foreman of Switchfoot and their self-titled debut album will be released January 20 on ATO Records.
Though their bands have followed somewhat divergent paths—Grammy-award winning Nickel Creek crossing over from the bluegrass scene to mainstream roots music, and the Grammy-nominated Switchfoot ruling over modern-rock radio—these fellow San Diegans have known each other casually since high school, when both began exploring the California music scene by playing what Foreman calls an endless series of shows with their respective groups. Mutual friends spent years telling both men they should try writing songs together, an idea they continually brushed off until they began running into each other at a local coffee shop near both their homes in San Diego's North County.
