The Tone Rangers
The Tone Rangers
The Tone Rangers delight audiences from coast to coast with a dynamic blend of tight harmonies, inventive arrangements and keen wit. In a few choreographed minutes, the Tone Rangers propel through 900 years of Western music--from Gregorian chant to classic rock to TV theme songs--in a fresh approach to contemporary a cappella music and comedy. Nominated for seven Wammies by the Washington Area Music Association in the past four years, the Tone Rangers were voted the Best A Cappella Group four consecutive years (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) and won Best A Cappella Recording for "We Think You Love Us (But We've Been Wrong Before)." They were also national finalists in the 2002 Harmony Sweepstakes (the Superbowl of a cappella), and three-time winners of Mid-Atlantic "Audience Favorite" and "Best Arrangement" awards.
Venus d Minor
Venus d Minor
The galaxy’s favorite women’s octet, Venus d Minor brings audiences widely varied a cappella fare–from Richard Rodgers and Irving Berlin to The Monkees and Bonnie Raitt. Their latest album “Digital Redemption,” available on iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby, includes pop and rock arrangements, while their first album “Give the Girls a Hand” focuses on jazz standards. The group was originally founded in 1987 as The Winettes, and included Robin Sloan and Dolores McDonagh who still sing in Venus. We don’t know if this makes them loyal or just plain crazy.

Known for putting humorous lyrics to classic tunes, Venus brings its unique sound and brand of humor to audiences throughout the Washington, D.C. area, including Strathmore Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Birchmere, Lisner Auditorium, George Mason University, Glen Echo Park, and Jammin’ Java.
The Chromatics
The Chromatics
The Chromatics are a high-energy vocal band on a mission to delight audiences with a full spectrum of songs about science, technology, life, and their intersections. They have taken their astronomically-correct a cappella songs, a project called AstroCappella, from Palm Springs to Orlando and from Las Vegas to New York, and their CD has flown in space (no kidding!). Back down on earth they have captivated young and old alike at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage, the National Air & Space Museum, the Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes, and numerous science fiction conventions, First Nights, festivals, concert series, and private parties. Their CDs have been nominated for multiple Washington Area Music Awards (WAMMIES) and Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs). After nearly 20 years together they are a mainstay of the local music scene and still bring a youthful exuberance to their fun-filled, colorful, and scientifically accurate performances.
